Famous Transgender Models: Runway Collection

 



Valentina  Sampaio

A Brazilian model. She got her start at Sao Paulo Fashion Week in 2016 and is now one of the most famous transgender models in the world at 23. Sampaio has received international media attention for her work at many major fashion publications, and in August 2019 became the first openly transgender model for Victoria’s Secret. Valentina became the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue's first openly transgender model in 2020.

Andreja Pejić

A Bosnian-Australian model. Before she was known as an androgynous model before coming out as transgender in 2014. Since then, Pejic has become the first trans model to book a major cosmetic campaign and she has become the first trans model to be profiled by Vogue.

Nathan Westling (born Natalie Westling)

One of the most high-profile transgender male models in the industry. In 2015, Nathan Westling started his modeling career, quickly becoming one of the top female models in the industry, working with Marc Jacobs, Versace, Prada, and Chanel. In 2019, it was announced that Westling would be transitioning. An American model made their runway debut at Prada's menswear spring 2020 show in Shanghai, China.

Hunter Schafer

She made a name for herself as a transgender model before starring in HBO's "Euphoria." Hunter Schafer's career began when she was 18 and was signed to Elite Model Management. In just a few years, Schafer was walking the runways for Dior, Helmut Lang, and Miu Miu.

Teddy Quinlivan

She worked as a model on some of the biggest runways for two years before coming out. In 2015, Louis Vuitton's creative director Nicolas Ghesquière discovered Teddy Quinlivan, and her career boomed. She appeared on the runway for Diane Von Furstenberg and Jeremy Scott. Two years after starting in modeling, Quinlivan came out as transgender.
